Applications Open for Compute for Climate Fellowship 2025

Applications are now being accepted for the Compute for Climate Fellowship 2025 program, which is being implemented in collaboration with the International Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (IRCAI) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) under the auspices of UNESCO.

This program was created to support innovative solutions that utilize artificial intelligence and cloud computing technologies in the fight against climate change. As of 2025, the scope of the program has been expanded and a total of 4 million USD worth of AWS credits will be allocated to 20 initiatives. Each selected initiative will have the opportunity to receive technical mentoring support from IRCAI and AWS experts along with at least 200,000 USD worth of AWS cloud computing credits.

Innovative AI-based projects operating in the following areas will be supported within the scope of Compute for Climate Fellowship 2025:

Clean energy solutions,
Sustainable transportation technologies,
Transformation in agriculture and food systems,
Carbon capture and removal technologies,
Climate risk analysis and prediction,
Other climate-focused artificial intelligence applications.
As of 2025, the program will focus specifically on climate solutions developed by Indigenous and Local communities.

Climate technology startups established within the last 10 years are eligible to apply for the Compute for Climate Fellowship 2025.
